Globel Electronics Makeup Brush Review | SimplyMe

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to be writing a review on the new brushes that I have recently purchased. These makeup brushes are from Globel Electronics and they were only £6.99 for the set, which is a very good price for 10 brushes! In the set, there are 5 face brushes and 5 eye brushes, which are all perfect for every day use.

However, the brushes do have some negative points and one of them is the overall density of the brushes. The face brushes are the complete opposite of dense, which may be perfect for some people, but it makes foundation very hard to apply. In my opinion, I thought that the face brushes would be perfect for foundation because of the size and softness of the brushes, but however, as I said earlier the density isn't right. Especially on the stippling brush, where the bristles definitely need to be packed tighter together!
Also, as these brushes are so fluffy and soft, it makes them perfect for dusting or firmly applying powder.

In the face set there are 5 brushes as I said earlier, and these include:
 Stippling Brush
 Slightly Tapered Fluffy Brush
 X2 Fluffy Angled Brushes
 Rounded Face Brush

Moving on to the eye brushes, there are again 5 of these! Pretty much all of these brushes have a different purpose, which is great as it means that you don't go overboard spending money. These brushes are the perfect size for blending and using colour around the eye area, as they are slightly larger than expected. This makes them perfect for smoky eyes!

However, I again have one or two problems with these brushes, which I feel should be changed. To start off with, the density is again quite wrong. However, they aren't like the face brushes, where they need to be denser. They are actually the complete opposite and are slightly too dense! Personally, I feel that eye brushes should be fluffy and soft, and I think that most people would agree with me. However, because these brushes are so dense, it stops them from being as fluffy as they should be. Also, it gives a slightly weird rubbery texture!

The eye part of the brush set includes:
X2 Medium Blending Brushes
 Large Blending Brush
 Slightly Tapered Brush
(perfect for under the eye, inner corner or more control in the outer V)
 Angled Brush

Sony A290 Review | SimplyMe

Hey everyone! As you may have noticed by the increased quality of my photos, I got given a DSLR for Christmas and I have been using it ever since. I didn't want to do a review straight away because I wanted to give myself time to properly try out all the effects and get used to the camera. However, it has been about a month now and I finally decided to do a review! The pictures that I will be putting in this review are not mine as I do not have anything to take a photo of my camera with. They are all taken from Google.

This camera is the Sony A290 and it is on the slightly cheaper scale of DSLR's. However, DSLR's are quite expensive anyway! The Sony A290 is currently at a price of £330 new, but it can be found cheaper on other websites!
This camera has got 14.2 MP so it produces good quality photos and it has 6 different standard effects, 4 custom effects and an auto effect. These effects are very useful in different situations such as portrait, macro, etc...

The Sony A290 comes with a standard lens, which is a 18-55mm lens. Even though this comes with the camera, it is really a great quality lens! It doesn't feel plasticy ether, which is good for the price.

The Tamaron lens is another lens that you may buy with the Sony A290! This lens is a zoom lens, with amazing photo ability. However, the sports action special effect mode should be used for moving objects while using this lens. This is because the zoom lens is not able to quickly focus on un-stationary objects.

Below are some sample pictures:

20 Beauty Tips and Tricks | SimplyMe

Hey guys! Today I thought that I would do something a little different to my usual review and tutorial type posts. I am still obviously keeping beauty, hair, etc as that's what my blog is all about! Anyway, I'm going to be sharing with you 20 beauty and hair related tips that you can use on a daily basis. I hope that you enjoy!

  1. Dry shampoo doesn't just remove excess oil from your hair, but it also creates extra texture and volume!
  2. Run a white or beige eyeliner along your waterline to make your eyes look bigger and more awake. This also reduces the amount of visible redness!
  3. Apply a clear nail varnish over top of nail varnish and wipe it off to remove nail varnish! Do this when you have no remover.
  4. Set gel eyeliner with a eyeshadow of the same colour. This is make it last all day without budging!
  5. To try out a new hair tone, dust a highly pigmented blush through the ends!
  6. When finding a foundation colour match, apply the tester just below the jaw-line in natural light for the correct colour match!
  7. For shiny hair, rinse thoroughly with cool water. This will lock in moisture!
  8. Too much hair brushing can break off and snap your hair!
  9. Stick tape in line with your bottom lash line and angle it up towards the tail-end of your eyebrow. This can help you to achieve the perfect cat eye!
  10. Plaiting your hair before bed and sleeping with it in can slightly increase hair growth speed.
  11. Increase the pigmentation of eyeshadow by applying a white eyeliner all over your eyelid to give to colours a neutral base!
  12. Give the illusion of bigger lips by applying a light concealer or gloss on the inner third of your lips!
  13. Use a nude lip gloss as a highlight!
  14. Use a salmon toned concealer to counteract dark circles!
  15. When you run out of blush, dab a small amount of pink or peach lipstick onto the apples of your cheeks and blend it out!
  16. Blend foundation from your t-zone outwards for a fuller coverage!
  17. If you are going for a pastel eyeshadow then make sure it pairs with your hair colour: Blond hair and pale green, brown or black hair and lavender, red hair and soft pink!
  18. In winter, wear a gold eyeshadow to brighten up your eyes in the cold months!
  19. Fill in your lips with a lip liner to make your lipstick last longer!
  20. For a frosty eyeshadow look, use a metallic shade in the inner corner as well as all over the lid!

I hope that you all enjoy all the tips and be sure to try some of them out! My social media links are above and make sure to comment down below your favourite tip or another tip you have. xx

Current Winter Scent | SimplyMe

Hey everyone! I hope that you are all having an amazing day so far. Also, I just want to tell you how much I am appreciating all of your guys' comments on my posts. I never ever thought that that would happen! I guess that it just takes time for you to be able to interact with your readers and please do leave a comment below on whether you have anymore ideas for future posts or you have anything else to say. This is because I really enjoy talking to you guys!
Today I am going to be sharing my current winter staple scent. I know that this is a little different to what I usually do, which is based more around the beauty, fashion and life aspects of things. But I wanted to change it up to something a little different.

The brand of this scent is Firetrap and its the For Her fragrance. The scent of this perfume is a little floral but not to overpowering. It contains white jasmine, which is what makes the aroma floral-like. However, there are very deep and heavy undertones of amber. I believe that the amber tones are what stops the floral-ness taking over the aroma and making it to over-powering.
This scent is quite basic so its perfect to wear everyday. Because of this, you can spray this perfume on you even for school and work. However, this Firetrap For Her eau de toilette is a great staple to have in your collection!

Currently the set is only £10.00 at Superdrug in the sale! I would recommend purchasing it now if you are interested because once the sale is over the price will rise to £30.00 again. I am going to link the website here if you wish to buy the bottle of perfume in the sale. This bottle actually comes in a set with an 100ml body lotion. However, I don't remember using this so I won't be reviewing the body lotion.

I hope that you all enjoyed this type of post and remember to share with all your friends. Also, my links are above as always. The only thing left to say is thank you for all of your support, I really appreciate it. More than you could ever imagine. As I said earlier, remember to leave a comment down below. xx

Why You Should Stop Comparing Yourselves To Others | SimplyMe

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to be writing a post which is a little different to what I should usually would do. Usually I would upload ether a review, a favourites or maybe a tutorial but today I'm going to be writing about quite a deep subject. As you can probably tell from my title I am going to be telling you why you shouldn't compare yourselves to others. If this doesn't apply you then ether click off now as you will just be wasting your time but I would recommend reading this as it will hopefully show you the side of things that you haven't considered yet. Anyway, lets get into it!

Firstly, you shouldn't compare your 'behind the scenes' moments with other peoples 'highlights'. This quote is very popular and it has been spread wildly across the internet, at full speed. However, most people won't actually consider what this actually means. Lets be honest and say the people would you are comparing yourselves to will all usually have the same traits or features:

 - Society's definition of 'pretty'
 - Wear flawless makeup
 - Have millions of great clothes
 - Popular
 - 'In-shape'
 - etc...

Everyone has bad moments and times where things don't go right. That's what makes us human! These people that you think are completely perfect are human so they will have these moments too. They might even have more experience in hiding when things aren't right. When you are comparing yourselves to them, you wouldn't be considering this so this would result in you comparing your 'behind the scenes' to their 'highlights'. Where the quote says highlights, its obviously referring to these people's best and most showed off moments. By saying 'showed off moments' I am showing that these people have a clear idea of their best and worst moments so they are able to hide the ones that aren't as good and then make the best ones easily seen.

This next point is quite obvious to many people, however it can be missed by a fair amount of people. Comparing yourself to other people, who you think are perfect, it usually an everyday subject. You may not notice but you are always sub-consciously doing it, its what makes you human. When you do this it is actually bring down your mood. Also, it brings down your level of trust in others.
Comparing yourself is a part of human nature. But it shouldn't be others compared against you. It should be your old self and your current self.

In conclusion, the message that I'm trying to get across is that life is good because we are different. Can you imagine a world of just white? Or everyone being 30 years old? Life would be boring, wouldn't it?

I hope that you enjoyed this different type of deeeep post! Comment below if you want me to do more like this and make sure to leave some feedback for me. Remember to like and share with your friends. Also, my links are above as usual. xx
